  • Puzzling results with open loop timer. Stddev of 1 to 15 s jitter measured repeatedly for 12 hours showed tau^1 trend as expected. When data was reduced to 2 hours to avoid clearly observed thermal drift, jitter shows an unexpected tau^0.5 trend. Jitter is measured by counting 500kHz clock edges in a 1 s period, 2 s period, … 15 s period.
