Minutes

  • @Andrew Fearing

    • placed order for 50x of the small boards, will be shipped to @Austin Patel . from https://www.4pcb.com/ / Advanced circuits

    • no delivery date received (but paid for 3 day turnaround)

    • goal is to verify a couple of boards, then ship to get wirebonded and assembled

    • wirebonding to board

  • @Joshua Alexander

    • waiting for response from ??

    • worked on quote for PCB for dev board

  • @Austin Patel

    • Digikey order ready for 5x boards, OK?

    • @Kristofer PISTER confirms 5x good, if OK, place order for 50x boards

    • discussion about capacitor values which weren’t clear from label

    • @Kristofer PISTER if hooked up to nRF52840, no external components should be needed. Going through list of signals that need capacitors. So may not need to populate all capacitors: wire bonding should be sufficient.

    • @Jackson Paddock can help populate boards

  • @Jackson Paddock

    • looked through Sahar's MsC thesis about powering, no information inside

    • next steps: getting measurements during startup

    • @Kristofer PISTER try and figure out as much as possible about what is going on on a chip that doesn’t boot

    • @Kristofer PISTER work on future SCuM with RISC-V, probable to have a uC, including security and ML acceleration

    • @Fil Maksimovic no real guidance on why some chips don’t boot. Tried to see which instruction was last executed; got to the second instruction, but didn’t execute. Asked James at ARM suggested an analog problem. Strange because didn’t see same thing in SCuM3. Inconsistency between SCuM3 and SCuM3c may be clocking or power routing.

    • @Kristofer PISTER see what it is you see and what you expect. Exploring why VDD tap works. It would be good to have step by step list of what works and what doesn’t.

    • @David Burnett 0.1 Ohm ??? @Kristofer PISTER between 1 and 10 Ohm

  • @Said Alvarado-Marin

    • finished designing lighthouse receiver breakout, confirmation e-mail received

    • waiting for DigiKey order

    • order and received 3x lighthouse

    • challenge about power supply, looking for circuit, documenting design

    • didn’t have time to measure startup voltage of nRF52840. Went through datasheet, DEFAULT value of REGOUT0 is 1.8 V.

    • discussion about behavior about.

    • @Kristofer PISTER how exactly is the lighthouse 2 laser modulation?

    • @Thomas Watteyne questions about whether lighthouse v2 laser can be received by SCuM3c

    • @Thomas Watteyne idea is to recreate sync pulse artificially through network synchronize

  • @David Burnett

    • e-mail boot ROM, found file with descriptive comments

    • on line 17, that’s what GPIO0 gets set high

    • discussion about boot sequence; a check might be to check whether we can load to RAM

  • @Razanne Abu-Aisheh

    • working on Atlas exploration and mapping

    • first version was in discrete time and space

    • now working on continuous time and space, central orchestrator

    • not OpenWSN communicate yet

    • taking a product management course, class project on the DotBot: vision, website, logo

  • @Fil Maksimovic

    • control algorithm to determining the drift

    • wrote about localization with AoA and UWB, eventually with mmWave (low-power and accurate enough?)

    • how to program large number of robots, possibly with different programs (mid-field communication?) how to do “wireless JTAG”

    • discussion about topic of IC design class
